Episode 1 : The Repurposed Ice Cream Container. Here’s a little story I recently remembered while doing our grocery shopping.

It’s one of my favorite kids of stories too, the ones that transport you back to a place and time you you didn’t realize you had stored away.

Why is it that the seemingly mundane every day actions end up making the best memories?

Then he wakes up, goes on for 10 minutes about how much he loves bread and I’m like

Quick grocery trip at @Frysfoodstores done just in time for the @Dbacks game!
Danny and I chose some of our favorites in store. It was super easy with the labels indicating the participating #frysdbacksrewards brands. There were so many to choose from and each dollar we spent earned us one point toward D-backs gear like merchandise, autographed memorabilia, and more!
You can accumulate these points until September 6 and start redeeming on June 12th.

Here’s a fun little activity we’ve been loving

Here’s a fun little activity we’ve been loving.
This also works with any small toys you may have and I sure love finding stuff to freeze and play with 😆

Turn the penguins into little ice skaters by freezing them in containers. I was originally going to use fruit cups to freeze them but I found this big ice cube tray so that worked really well.

Make some slides for them by freezing water in containers at an angle. In the end we ended up freezing the entire tray at an angle to make a mega slide 😄

We put it back in the freezer and got two days of play out of it

This past weekend we went peach picking. The kids sampled a few of them in the orchard and then we went home and made a peach crisp.

This isn’t my recipe. I googled it 😄but it was amazing and officially my husbands new favorite dessert. I’ll share the link my stories.

I have been thinking about Dannys schooling a lot

I have been thinking about Dannys schooling a lot lately. I get asked all the time if I plan to homeschool and to be honest I always imagined I would.
And then... he started asking to go to school...everyday.
He is such a social boy who thrives in soccer and Sunday school and asks for more.

Preschool starts this fall and sometimes I feel so overwhelmed by those decisions but it helps to remember that no matter what we choose, he is already learning so much on a daily basis.
Every question, every game of pretend, every meal he helps with, every song we sing, every craft we make together or time spent outdoors.
They are all perfect learning opportunities!
This is how children learn at this age.

We’ve been taking it pretty easy around here.
Enjoying the warmer weather and spending a lot of time at the farm picking fruits and veggies. This past weekend we made some peach lemonade from the peaches we got at the farm. Danny loves making lemonade and Rosie loves “hiding” to eat the lemons 😄
I guess you could say it’s been a pretty relaxed season for us and I think we’re all just fine with that.

Happy Earth Day

This is one of my favorite quotes. I think of it often as I make decisions for our lives and home. How will this decision affect the future of our children?

We recently switched over to reusable coffee filters so we made this globe lantern using some old coffee filters, a brown paper bag, objects from nature, and a balloon we found.

We paper matched it, cut it and put it over a tea light. I waited until the sun went down to show the kids the final result and they really got a kick out of it.

That’s all we used to make this beautiful spring tree! I love experimenting with things other than traditional sensory fillers.

Citrus peels and flowers have been some of our favorites and they smell so good too!

I’ve been wanting to make danny some more cardboard puzzles and this one was super easy to put together. 🙌🏽

Happy national gardening day!

We finished our @seedphytonutrients right on time to celebrate and plant our seeds.
So cool that each bottle comes with a packet of seeds!
As you can see where not giving up on our brown thumb. Pray for us.

Happy Tuesday friends! I had some chocolate cove

Happy Tuesday friends!

I had some chocolate covered peanut butter bars in the fridge and Danny loved them so much he ate the last one so I decided to make something like it myself😄

Here’s what I used:

1 1/4 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup maple syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup @pamelasproducts coconut flour

For the chocolate coating
1 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1 tablespoon coconut oil

I mixed the peanut butter, maple syrup, coconut flour, salt, and vanilla together
Rolled it into balls and put it in the fridge while I prepared the chocolate

I placed the chocolate chips and coconut oil on low on a sauce pan stirring until melted

Last I took the balls out of the fridge and dipped them in the chocolate. That’s it!
We are a few and I stored the rest in the fridge.

You can replace the maple syrup with honey and if the mix is too runny add in more coconut flour in small amounts.

Probably a lot more 😅

I was wracking my brain trying to come up with a new activity for us to do and then I realized
1. He loves this
2. It’s simple
3. It’s hot outside! Why not play with ice

And once again it was a hit. Just wash the eggshells well with warm soapy water, fill with objects from nature ( I like to save small dried flowers in old spice containers) fill with water, freeze, and peel outside.

trying new and interesting fruits.

This is a fun way to expose the kids to new things and even shake up our day a little 😄

Well this started with me seeing people putting fl

Well this started with me seeing people putting flower crowns on their eggs on Instagram

It ended with Danny singing Humpty Dumpty and smashing it

but somewhere in the middle it was really cute.

I had some dried flowers so I figured why not give this a try. We hard boiled them first and ate them after of course because were not about wasting food.

I hope you are all having a great Monday! 🥚 🥚 🌸

Nature sun-catchers are one of our favorite things

Nature sun-catchers are one of our favorite things to make.
This past week we gave them a little Easter touch and decorated our own egg sun-catchers.

We have also tried making them with twigs and tissue but this batch was our favorite so far.
They make the perfect decoration when placed on a window.
Both kids loved looking up at them and they add such a fun pop of color to our space with just a few simple supplies.
